Disappointing this time

This was the second time we have stayed at this Hotel and although our first visit was okay our second started off badly. I arranged and paid for this stay through www.hotelthailand.net without any problems. We were a family of 7 adults and 3 children. We arrived at the Hotel and our luggage was quickly transported up to the second floor where the lobby is situated. I had requested that our rooms be on the same floor and together, this was done and we arrived on the 39th floor but unfortunately things went sour from the minute we opened the doors to our rooms. Rooms [395 the smelly room] 397 one air con not working. Although our room was clean and looked okay, it smelt as though someone had died in it, the smell was so bad we had to get out strait away, the other two rooms smelt okay but the air cons in the bedrooms didn't work so the rooms were just too hot. After complaining we could only get two rooms on the 37th floor, as we had no choice we had to move and split up the family. These two rooms smelled okay and all air cons work. My daughters said they seen Cockroaches in the bathrooms at night, but I never did, but I did see those very small ants though, but this seams a problem right through Thailand, although how they managed to get up to the 39 floor is beyond me?. The lift system in this hotel are a nightmare as they are operated via a swipe card and we often ended up riding the lift for a lot longer than was required and of course there are not enough lifts for a building this large, so we had to wait all the time for the lift. Inconsiderate people also smoke in the Corridors and the lift, my son in law and I actually bodily through one person out of the lift to much applause from others. Breakfast was okay but always cold, actually the warmest item was the orange juice. The front desk personal although attended to all our request are just like robots, completed their tasks without any emotion or smiles etc, however the Taxi desk people were very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough to help, we used these people for airport transfers and for a day trip to Dream World, which was fantastic. Contact Sawart 0182563762 Pool was clean but a bit cool and on the 4th floor. The roof top Restaurant [Sky Lounge] has a nightly Seafood buffet for 300 Baht? which is very good, plenty of food and always hot, this is same restaurant that breakfast is served, so don't know how they can't get the breakfast food as hot? The best thing about this Hotel is its position to the Markets, right at the door step, which my daughters loved. Overall you get what you pay for and at $60 a night it was okay, but if your a fussy traveler, don't stay here. Would I stay again, yes but only if the price was right, but my daughters said, never again.
