If it's just a bed.....

Stayedin this hotel for 3 nights 'cause this is the only place my fishing guide would meet me at. First thing I noticed upon arrival is the lack of smiles from the front desk, from then on everything is mostly downhill. This hotel is old, the rooms doesn't have that homely feel & your lucky if your bathroom has a working cold & hot water system, if its not too hot then its too cold. By the way, they put me in the 10th floor that was way too gloomy/spooky & there was no elevator, their elevator stops at the 9th floor then I had to use the stairs. The Service is bad, unable to contact the front desk I got thru the operator & inquired about having a authentic Thai massage, the operator told me 1k bhat for 2 hours sent up a girl that didn't know anything about massage & wanted to do some other "business", so I sent her home. Next day I went to the front desk & inquired again they directed me to the 2nd floor which cost me only 800 bhat for 2 hour massage & the spa told me that they do not do in-room massage. So what was this? Miscommunication between departments? When I checked-out...which incidentally you don't even get a thank you for staying in their hotel..... & requested them to help me direct the taxi driver to a friend's house they just got a taxi & left me to sort things out. I would recommend their spa, very nice people there & good service 800 bhat 2 hour massage & free steam. As for the food, not a wide selection, nothing spectacular or great. I had a late dinner one night around 9pm in their coffee shop, its a glass walled coffee shop facing the street, you would notice the waiters flirting with the "working girls" outside, this was done in plain view of the customers. The choice of food is always the same for the breakfast buffets. I admit the location is good, easy access to shops & the new transit system. Overall, if you just want a bed to sleep in & have no other choice then go ahead stay in this hotel.
