Staying at the Royal Hotel in Bankok!

I have been to Thailand 4 times now and we always stay at teh Royal. Its cheap and has everything you need. Great swimming pool, a nice restaurant and teh bedrooms are of a reasonable size. The staff at the desk can be a little moody and unwelcoming and the taxi drivers within the hotel can be a little push, but the consierge and room service are really lovely! The location is ideal for younger travellers as it is only about a 5 min walk from the Kho San Road but be warned : You have to cross three ridiculosly busy roads to get there, which isn't great when your carrying suitcases. Overall, even though there probably are better hotels, really recommend the royal, particularly to younger travellers!!!
