Cheap - good location - but not highly recommended

An OK price and a fair enough hotel in a good location, nr Silom and nr the main pier for the water taxis - however, for what you get, it's not a great deal but it was OK. Stayed there from 27th - 31st Dec. Staff were not full of the usually smiling gorgeousness that have become used to in Thailand. But SOME members of staff were lovely and really made up the difference. The room was dark and smelly - they forgot to replenish toiletries and teabags and weren't great at helping me with the amount of luggage I have with my small son. The wifi is dodgy and costs too much for such crap service. The pool was a bit dirty and the top floor area where it was housed was also unclean. I heard the gym didn't work! All in all an OK choice for a small budget, but don't stay there too long because you really do only get what you pay for. TIPS - do not use the inhouse laundry which was extortionate, neither the in house restaurant which, while served OK to good food, was ridiculously expensive and if you go down the road on the left hand side towards Robinsons, about 1 min from the hotel, there is a fab small cafe open til 630pm that will serve you delicious stuff to take out for a quarter of the price. The lobby houses a tour agent who are rubbish and expensive too - triple check on the time they quote you - they ballsed up 2 of my bookings...
