Administration of the hotel was not very good. Our booking, made in Dec 2010, could not been found. finally we got a room.
By checking out an extra amount of TB 1.400,-- was charged above the agreed TB 1.200,-- fot late check-out. We got a refund promissed (not received yet)only after two times mai....
Tranquil, peaceful, clean, plenty and delicious food even first time we have tasted Thai food, sitting by the river was also very relaxing.
Taking river tours was very interesting, enjoyable and original.
People, also are very friendly, kind and helpful.

Sorry, in bathroom welcome me a Cookroach on bathtube and the wastebin in bathroom was full from guest before. The staff by counter didnt greet and was unfriendly all time. When i payed, i didnt hear good bye or thx for stay in our hotel. Thats all together isnt that what i know normal from smiling ....
We had a 9 night stay at the Royal River Hotel. The rooms are o. k. but the breakfast is not very delicious for western guests. The staff was not friendly. I don't recommended the Royal River.
This is my 25th trip in Thailand and at the same time my worst experience in a Bangkok hotel.
The room is old and air conditioning doesn't work: you can only have a fridge temperature or turn off the sistem and sleep in a hot room.
To take a simple cup of cofee - free of charge in every Bangko....
Pleasant, quiet, no-frills stay. Even though we only booked the standard room, we had a decent view of the Chao Praya River.
Breakfast had a nice mix of Thai and Western fare. The fish boiled rice was really nice.
It's not near the shopping district, so be prepared to pay around 80-100 baht to....
