Outof the way stay in Bangkok

On first impression this is a grand large hotel, walking in the front entrance and lobby it is massive and majesticaly decorated. But as we have found with many larger hotels the service doesnt match this. When we stayed there was not alot of other guests around and there seemed to be loads of staff not doing much. Although you would think that because of this we would have got better service this was sadly not the case. When we checked in there were 4 staff to help do this but it wasnt quick. Also one day we come back with alot of very large shopping bags but although there were staff at the entrance none offered to help us with the trolley to our room! We had dinner at the hotel the first night but it wasnt that good. The room was ok a good size with safe etc but did seem dated. However the worst thing is the location which you would always need a taxi to go anywhere as we walked to siam square and took 45 mins which in the heat of the city is not good.
