I was immediately upgraded to a Superior Room as most of the rooms in Standard were currently under renovation but I opted to remain in Standard.I am always comfortable staying in Standard and the bed is just all right. I would highly recommend to stay at Chiang Mai Gate Hotel for any purpose (tourist, business etc.). The hotel offer contains many facilities (unfortunately the pool was under renovation), the staff is very friendly and helpful. There is also a good restaurant belonging to this hotel. We were there from the 3rd to 7th May 2008. Eight of us were on a golfing vacation and 3 of the wives following were there sightseeing and shopping. None of us have any major complains about the hotel except that there was some renovation work on one of the floors. We had to walk through the corrido....
