I go to Thailand all the time for meetings/conferences. This time I stayed at this hotel as the one I regularly stay was fully booked. The hotel is huge and old and reminded me of the movie "Shine". The room was spacious and the bathroom was fairly clean, but I suffered from the smell of cigarettes ....

We just go there for the nice swimming pool. Unfortunately no big family room. Breakfast not good. Big Central Mall attached very convenient.

Location of LOTUS Hotel with annexe shopping complex is excellence. Don't have to go to anywhere for shopping. Anything you need to buy or eat are there. Bedroom in DoiSuthep Wing is outstanding. Bathroom without soap dishes is uncomfortable.

Disappointing stay in Chiang Mai

a rat and two mice seen in area by bar and tables where food is being served cockroach in bathroom although there is an up to date fire certificate, definately not up to U K standards worried about serious fire hazards eg no fire doors, exits left open, door closers not working etc.

Excellent hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We stayed in various hotels during our visit to Thailand and the Lotus topped them all. I would recommend this hotel for price, quality and service.

Good value if breakfast included. Do not buy water from hotel bar as 35 bhat for small bottle. Bathrooms could do with smartening up but plenty of hot water and soaps etc. Staff friendly and helpful and Shinawatra Silk shop just 100yds away. KFC in shopping centre nearby, also useful. Nice swimming ....
