a two and a half hour longtail trip along the mae nam kok river gets you to the huai khum resort. it's a beautiful setting-stunning scenery and a lahu hill tribe village right next door. the owner was very helpful and friendly and organised a hill trek for us. if you want to get away from it all, this is your place. on the down side-most of the rooms are set on the hillside, so if you have mobility problems,this isn't the place for you.there is no mobile phone reception-although the owner was getting internet access established as we left. we loved the place and would definitely recommend it.
