We stopped in Chumphon for a rest on the drive from Bangkok to Phuket. This resort is situated in a beautiful, calm bay. We enjoyed walking the beach, catching crabs, and collecting shells with our children. But I must mention that the biting sand flies (in the U.S. we call them "no-see-'ems") on the beach are hard to endure on the beach, and the oceanview restaurant is swarming with (non-biting) flies as well. We still recommend this resort, although probably not for a longer stay.
