Great little place in Hua Hin

I liked White Sands for its good, quiet location, opposite the Sofitel yet just a few minutes walk to places to eat, drink, etc. There is free internet in the lobby, a nice small pool and no restaurant but you get vouchers for breakfast at the Mexican Cantina place next door, which was just fine. There is a fault in the hotelthailand booking system in that I booked a twin deluxe room for myself and my daughter but on arrival we were shown to a double room and told us they do not have twin deluxe rooms, so we had to pay an extra 400 Baht a night to the hotel to get an upgraded room on the ground floor, which, apart from having a table and chairs outside in the public garden, didn't seem much better than the deluxe room. However, the staff were very friendly and efficient and I would definitley stay here again. It's a great base. If you're more into resort style hotels where you spend a lot of time at the hotel this won't be the place for you, as there is no room service and the pool area is small. The woman who does Thai massage next door is VERY good, and we've had a few. She sorted out my daughter's neck problems and pains better than anyone else has.
