Warmly welcomed by highly trained and charming staff. Beautiful gardens open out to wood floored sun deck highlighted by a really chic swimming pool and the bay vista itself. I am fortunate to work in Italy and live in Thailand. Koh Chang is blessed with clean air, mountains and tall ancient trees fronting the unspoiled tropical forest. This dramatic lush green so compliments the azure blue island waters, with beautiful coral structures especially on the outer islands that are surrounded with colourful fish in the clear waters. The hotel is well serviced, the gardens well maintained. We dined at the Italian restaurant and it was an experience I will always remember. Firstly the service and quality of food was at least five star. The flavours were excellent as a result of fresh produce and world class cuisine. I tend to judge a restaurant not so much by the meat or fish, but by the vegetables, which often get overloooked (or overcooked!). Well I was delighted because of the variety, market freshness and exact cooking which brought out the fullest of flavours and delightful textures. Needless to say the meats and fish were also excellent as were the breads, starters and wine! To add to this marvellous evening there was a massive thunderstorm which lasted exactly the duration of the meal (only the best restaurants can put on this kind of display). My wife and I chose to have a terrace table so as well as pyrotechnics all about, we had to raise our voices above the volume of the roaring waters. The air was aromatic and magical. We had one session of massage therapy at the spa and again the staff were so expert, soft and caring. This was quality time, so relaxing - not only for the body but the mind. There were two aspects that were not perfect for us. There was a lack of sandy beach, as the garden ends at a sea wall rather than a natural beach. Secondly there was too much noise from the adjacent hotels which were having Karaoke sessions. These are small criticisms, and I am pleased to say that overall we were delighted with our stay at the Amari Emerald Cove Resort and Spa. We have come to know that the Amari name is one that we can depend on for quality and service and would like to recommend the Amari Vogue in Krabi!
