Shame about Cozy Hill

Stayed 2 nights in cozy hill at this resort and the room was horrible. The moment we opened the door of the initially uncleaned room we were horrified at the state of it. The room was shoddy, smelly, had holes in the walls which were stuffed with paper and the bathroom ceiling consisted of black polythene. When we complained and asked to move we were told it was only the expensive rooms left right next to reception that were available which were out of our budget. This was strange because the two nights we were there we saw other bungalows lying empty. The resort itself was lovely with a great pool area and the other accommodation appeared to be of a high standard. It looks like everywhere but the rooms on the hill had been refurbished after the tsunami but the cheaper bungalows have been forgotten about. The resort was full of Scandinavians who hogged the sun loungers and seemed to leave their towels out day and night which meant you couldn't use them even when they were lying empty all day, the staff should have a policy to stop this occurring as it is unfair. The breakfast was a buffet and was great and well worth the money. We have stayed in many bungalows in Thailand for 500 bhats and less and they put this "fancy" resort to shame. We would recommend staying here but AVOID Cozy Hill. The fact that there were no photos of the Cozy Hill rooms should have alerted us but we were very naive and were duped by the photos of the other bungalows.
