Ao Nang itself is a fantastic place, recommend this for anyone. It is a hub for outdoor activities and tours and at the same time is a small town with good shopping ameneties and a few bars. Ao Nang Sea Front Thai resort has a Convenient location, very close to beach, long tails, and main shopping. Small compact resort with a nice pool and associated pool bar, but not much else. Looks a bit worn down and expensive compared to other resorts which are newer and in the same price category. It is quite small and the service is ok. Air conditioning in one of the rooms did not work, but we managed to make a swap. This place is ok, but if you have small children then you may require more entertainment than just the pool and a higher level of service. We originally booked 2 deluxe rooms and 1 Guesthouse standard room. Do NOT reccommend the "guesthouse" this was not nice - we swapped for a room in the resort immediately !! Cannot understand why they said they were fully booked as when we got there, there was no problem moving rooms. Bar staff was friendly, and helpful.
