Impressive Setting in Ao Nang

Having lived in Thailand for 8 years and been a frequent visitor to Krabi and Ao Nang I chose Peace Laguna mainly for its location. We originally booked 2 standard rooms, but found them to be poor value, to look old and smell of damp. We upgraded to 2 bungalows which overlooked the hotel's small river and reception area. These were quite expensive but very impressive. The decor was beautiful as was the general landscaping and view around the hotel grounds. Having 3 pools made it more peaceful. The breakfast buffet had a fair selection. We ate out mostly in the evenings as there were many restaurants in walking distance. Most staff were very friendly although sometimes lacked knowledge, even when spoken to in Thai. Generally a great stay, spoilt slightly by food poisoning from the hotel restaurant on the last day. We would stay here again but only in a bungalow.
