Terrible hotel: avoid at all costs and stay in a guesthouse

The room I booked and paid for was a standard room, and the bath was not even remotely clean. I asked to see other rooms and was told I would have to upgrade at a cost of 200 bhat. I refused, and finally the hotel agreed on a free upgrade as long as I did not take breakfast. The superior room was bigger, and at least somewhat cleaner, although the walls still had big damp patches and there were enormous cracks in the basin and tiling. Shocking value for money, poor service and a disgrace to Thailand, where we stayed in many beautiful places. This is actually the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Shame on the Tip Chang.
