Pai is a great community to visit but do not stay in Baan Pai Village

This place looks great from the outside, from the street, but the room was terrible. We had rats at night, the smell of sewage during the day and the room was not cleaned after the first or second day of our stay. We stayed two nights and then just left, losing our third night deposit. Another couple also left early for their own reasons. It may be that we caught Baan Pai Village on a bad day so please be sure and read other evaluations of Baan Pai Village. One thing that is important is that there are three different business with very similar names so I am concerned that I do not disfavor the other businesses but this is certainly not a place I would recommend to anyone. The cost was OK but certainly competitive with other places in the neighborhood that offered better facilities.
