Leaves a lot to be desired...

An obviously new hotel and expensive for that little town. I had reserved an upper room, as recommended, for view, sunshine and quiet. I was informed that the only room available was a ground floor one. When looking at it, it was really foul smelling! They told me first, I would have to take that one. I reminded them of my request, as another friend was shown an upstairs one available that same day, which my friends chose not to rent for the high price. So when I asked for it, they said those rooms were not available as I rented by a cheap web site and they wanted full price for those rooms! they put me in another very cold cement floor room (which I was told was the same in all rooms). Obviously there were other rooms! No carpets, only a very tiny mat. Was so cold I couldn't put my feet on the ground, even to go to the freezing bathroom after spending a night curled in a ball in the freezing bed. When asking for some sort of cover on the icy cement, or at least a heater, they said in a very unfriendly way, no one had ever complained, or asked for that (I reminded them they had only been open a few months) and they WILL get other complaints. No heater, only another blanket! After insisting, they put another small woven leaf mat on the floor (certainly no place or way to do yoga exercises in that freezer!). My visit was in mid Feb. the end of the long cold season. Nice pool, but when a friend came to visit, and have a swim in the afternoon, I returned to my room and then I had an irate call from management that no non guest can use the pool (which was totally empty anyway)?! Very bad attitude. Will not return, nor recommend this place at even a fraction of the price they charged. Many very nice places in this very friendly town on the river and elsewhere.
