Very nice & clean by Michael Nistoreanu, United Kingdom - Jun 3, 2008
My wife and I stayed here for 7 nights in may 2008, The hotel itself is only about 1 year old as it was rebuilt after the tsunami, if you like quiete and comfort, this is the one, as you'd expect from a new hotel all of the furniture & fittings were clean & tidy. The room we had was on the front block, i think it was 253,the staff were very good and very polite.the breakfast was ok, but were not really breakfast people, so we skipped it most days. My only problem was that the nearest 7/11 was 5km away, so to some extent you needed transport even for the local shop, but it's beach location (not have to cross road to get to the beach)was well worth it. we did hire a car from Budget about 7km away, they delivered it to the hotel and we dropped it back at the airport. You can hire from reception but as you'd expect they add about 400bht per day onto the rental. We paid 1200bht for a toyota vios per day with full insurance. We will go back to Kao lak in the future and most probably stay at the same hotel. The other nice hotel we checked out when we were there was La Flora, this looked nice, but the rooms/blocks seemed to be set quite a way back from the sea view and obscured by the garden trees, but the beach bungalows here were actually on the beach, (well about 4m from beach) but the location of this hotel was much more central & near shops etc. of course it really depends on the type of holiday you want.
