Christmas Disappointment

Stayed in a Thai Villa during Christmas 2007. The room was nice, almost romantic. However, "peak season?€? was hopelessly (!) overpriced, especially with the compulsory ?€?gala?€? dinner (a very simple buffet) and a poor entertainment program. Most embarrassing: the major concern of the staff seemed to be that guests pay for their drinks which were not included in the dinner price! Also annoying was the entertainer who would give the worst Elvis performance you can imagine every evening. Seriously, never ever have I heard anybody singing so badly. The hotel might be good value for money for a quiet stay during low season, but be aware that it?€?s located a couple of kilometers from the beach (and for what reason do you go to Phuket?)
