The Laguna Phuket area is - compared to Patong beach and co. - a wonderful relaxing area. There are 6 or 7 luxury hotels in the laguna. The Alamanda is one of the 'cheaper' ones (it is not on the beach). There are little boats every couple of minutes to the beach and to the other hotels. Walking to the beach takes around 10 minutes (through Sheraton), but pedestrians seem not to be common around the laguna streets. The Alamanda consists of many buildings, so the distance room - lobby (breakfast) can be quite long (free golf car pickup on demand - never used it though). Bathrooms were not the newest. Tip: rent a scooter once you get sick of the same beach and look for some hidden ones.
