We had a deluxe room on the ground floor in the Spa Wing, with our own jaccuzi pool between our room and the main swimming pool, giving access directly to poolside. All the staff were extremely courteous and helpful and, at times, amusing - Happy Hour at the pool bar being a case in point. The room was clean and serviced daily and room mini-bar prices extremely reasonable. Buffet breakfast was excellent - eat as much as you can - and we found we didn't need another meal until evening. Evening meals were a bit pricey and few guests ate in the restaurant. We ate there three times during our eleven-night stay and, whilst the food was good, there was little atmosphere, despite the efforts of a not-too-bad trio every evening. The in-house massage was brilliant, according to Elaine! The resort is outside the main 'drag' and nightlife of Patong Beach, so there are no great views - but it is a wonderful oasis away from the bustle of the streets, whilst remaining within easy walking distance of the beach. Alternatively, the Resort runs complementary buses to Patong Beach and into Phuket Town. We were there to 'chill out' after eight weeks racing round the world so, for us it was perfect. We did take one speedboat trip to Phi Phi Island (including Maya Beach of 'The Beach' fame). This was bought through the hotel and was good value, we thought. So, overall, we'd recommend Deevana Patong Resort and Spa wholeheartedly - for those wanting a comfortable base or a 'chill-out' - but don't expect wild excitement in the hotel itself.
